Coral Reefs are called the “rainforest of the sea”. This means that coral reefs are very diverse, and have an abundance of species that live in it. About 25% of the ocean depends on the coral reef. Fish use coral reefs for hiding places, safe places to lay their eggs, food, and protection from predators. Coral reefs also provide protection for shore. They protect against harsh waves. Over half a billion people depend on the coral reefs. They depend on it for food, tourism and their lively hood.

While researching this website I was able to understand the importance of the coral reefs. They are not just important for the animals that need the reefs, but also for people.
